Site News We are attempting to revive after a coma which lasted far too long. Advertising would be much appreciated by both new and old members. Let's get FoF going again, and better than before at that! ;)
I've also decided that instead of waiting for people to make a whole bunch of rogues and loners to fill MountainClan's ranks, we will be using NPCs for the most part. You are still welcome to make a MountainClan cat, but I'll warn you, MountainClan will not be around forever and the cats will return to being rogues and loners sooner or later.
Prophecy Night will fall over the Forest
Trees will block out the Light
A mighty Storm will scatter Stone
Five fall to Four and One falls to flight
A kit finds it's mother to take up the fight
And the Mountain's peace will crumble and cease
(No cat has been told of the prophecy and the plot will not take place for some time yet. We need more members and we need to fill high ranks before the plot can take place. The five cats who will be getting the prophecy for each Clan will get it after all high ranks are filled and MountainClan will not receive it as StarClan does not recognize them as a true Clan.)

Leaders When a cat becomes Clan leader, he or she must travel to the Moon Tree to share tongues with StarClan. The Clan's medicine cat accompanies them on the journey but leaves them alone for the ceremony, in which the leader is granted nine lives and a new name with star at the end. This process can be surprising and painful, but it is important for leaders to be able to fight fiercely for their Clan and live long enough to pass along their wisdom and prepare a new leader. During the ceremony, each life is given to the new leader by a cat whose life was significant to the new leader in some way.
Deputies "I say these words before the body of _____, so that his/her spirit may hear and approve my choice. _____ will be the new deputy of _____Clan." The new deputy must be chosen by the leader before moonhigh. To qualify for deputy, a cat must have mentored at least one apprentice. **A deputy stops being deputy if: 1. the Clan leader dies and the deputy must take over as leader 2. the deputy retires and becomes an elder 3. the deputy commits a crime against the warrior code and is demoted or driven from the Clan 4. the deputy dies
Medicine Cats "____paw, do you promise to uphold the ways of a medicine cat, to stand apart from the rivalry between Clan and Clan, and to protect all cats equally, even at the cost of your life?" Apprentice says, "I do." Mentor continues speaking, "Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your true name as a medicine cat. From this moment you will be known as ______." Before a cat can be fully accepted as a medicine cat apprentice, the medicine cat must receive a sign from StarClan that they are the right cat for the job.
Warriors "I, _____star, leader of ____Clan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this apprentice. He/She has trained hard to learn your ways and your code and I commend him/her to you as a warrior in his/her turn. ____paw, do you promise to protect and defend your Clan even at the cost of your life?" Apprentice says, "I do." Leader speaks once more, "Then by the powers of StarClan I give you your warrior name. From this day forward you shall be known as ______. StarClan honors your _____ and your _____ and we welcome you as a full warrior of ____Clan." (Leaders do not need to say the we honor your ____ and ____ part, but it is often done. Words such as loyalty, strength, cleverness, generosity, courage, etc. can be used to fill in the blanks) A newly named warrior will lick their leader's shoulder after the leader places their chin upon the newly named warrior's head. The Clan will call out the new warrior's name. That night, the new warrior must sit silent vigil, guarding the camp all night in silence only to make a sound if they must raise the alarm if their camp is being raided.
Apprentices "I, _____star, leader of ____Clan, call upon my warrior ancestors to look down upon this young cat. He/She has reached six moons and is ready to learn your ways and your code. ____kit, from this day forward, until you receive your warrior name, you will be known as ____paw. ______, you are ready for an apprentice. You will be ____paw's mentor." Apprentices and their mentors touch noses in acknowledgement of each other while the Clan calls the apprentice by their new name.
Elders "______, is it your wish to give up the name of a warrior and go to join the elders?" Cat replies, "It is." Leader speaks once more, "Your Clan honors you and all the service you have given us. I call upon StarClan to give you many seasons of rest."
